If you've never heard of us, our story is a fun place to start. But if you're short on time, let me give you the cliff notes of what we're currently after: your money. That’s the shortest answer possible. Lol.

Like a snail outgrowing its shell, it's time for our community spa to expand and grow.   When shopping for conventional financing, I found myself frustrated by the options—The banks and SBA lending had high interest rates, lots of stipulations on how to use the money, and just generally short-sighted and stifling. I went down the rabbit hole of a venture capitalist. I found myself feeling the ick of the big money investors who are just in it for more money. I whispered to myself.... I wish my community could be my bank. I'd rather pay them interest rather than a bank, the government or someone who already has too much money. So here we are... Will you be my bank?!

Why did I choose SMBX? 

When I first connected with SMBX, I had my reservations. I had never heard of anything like it before, and it felt a little… new. SMBX is a relatively new way for small businesses to borrow money directly from their communities instead of from a bank, the government, or a private investor.

It works similarly to a term loan: you pledge however much money you feel comfortable with. Our bond offering runs from April 23 to June 5. Around June 19, we receive the funds, and about 30 days later, we begin repaying you.

Each month, you'll get a direct deposit of the principal and interest.

  • The interest rate is set at 10.25%.

  • It’s a 60-month term loan.

They even have a slick little calculator so you can see how much you’ll earn in interest and what your monthly payments will look like.

I highly recommend signing up through the app. I personally invested $50 in another company on the platform just to see how it works. You see, I would never want to put you in a bad position—and I hate inefficiency.

 

Here are a few things I love about SMBX:

  • It literally takes 10 minutes from start to finish. I recorded my screen while investing in one of their offerings—Atelier Restaurant—to see how easy it was as a new user. I was genuinely impressed. The process was smooth and stress-free.

  • All you need is your ID and a debit card.

  • You can invest as much as you want, whenever you want, during the offering period.

    • Got a paycheck and want to invest $50? Do it.

    • Sold that random thing in your yard on Facebook Marketplace and made $150? Toss it in.

    • Got $50,000 maturing in a CD next week? Let’s gooo!

(And if you’re like, “I’m in the mafia and I sell drugs…”—just kidding! I don’t want your dirty money… or do I? 😂)

I’m scrappy, determined, and creative. I’m passionate, dedicated, and all-in on this business. Since launching in September 2021, I’ve seen incredible growth—with zero dollars spent on marketing or ads. I will RUN with this new location.
